Could Diabetes Be Sneaking Up On You? Posted By : Gen Wright

Our busy modern day lifestyles can cause us to have irregular eating schedules and we often feel stressed from the constant busyness of our lives. We often take easy options and grab foods which are not in our best health interests when we are pushed for time. This can throw our blood sugar levels out of whack causing disturbances to our metabolism (our bodys engine).

Are You Showing Signs Of A Path To Diabetes? Posted By : Gen Wright

You probably are aware that gaining weight isn't good for you but did you know that extra pounds of excess body fat may literally make you old before your time.

These small meals should contain a protein source and the balance made up of mainly vegetables. Try as much as possible to eat high quality, natural, whole unprocessed foods. Spend some time preparing your small meals and take them with you wherever you go during the day. That way you will be organized and there will be no excuse for not eating the right things.

Are Symptoms Of Pre Diabetes Making You Age Faster Than You Need To? Posted By : Gen Wright

Many years (even decades) of eating large amounts of refined carbohydrates and unbalanced meals can cause your cells to become poor at processing sugar in the blood, resulting in insulin resistance.

Support your exercise program with 4-6 high quality small meals each day that each contains a source of protein. Try to stick to natural, whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible. Our bodies are able to process these foods easier and are so much better for us than highly processed foods in pretty boxes that contain little to no nutrition.

Diabetes - My Ramblings about having Diabetes: Carbs Posted By : Gen Wright

Just a little update. I was diagnosed with diabetes in August of 2008 and am continuing my struggle to keep my blood sugar levels under control since that time. I have referred to this experience as a yo-yo one. It seems like one meal it is down but then it will spike again. This is just a journal of those experiences with a hope to give someone...

There are starchy vegetables that will cause your sugar levels to rise. Some condiments do too. You have to learn how they affect your body by testing. I will not go into that here as I discussed it in another article which you can find on Article Bank in the bio box below. In the middle of this you need to make sure what you are eating does not affect your heart either. Did I say you need to educate yourself?

Diabetes - My Ramblings about having Diabetes: How Much can I eat? Posted By : Gen Wright

Wow, how much can I eat? Great question. Check serving sizes. I found a cracker I like that has 15 crackers per serving with 22 grams of carbohydrate. It also has 5 grams of fiber...

My ramblings are not scientific nor are they medical although I am in the process of learning how to control diabetes myself. My ramblings are just to help you know that there are others going through the same thing. There is hope. You do need to be in contact with a medical doctor and dietitian to help you make wise choices and if you need insulin your doctor can prescribe that. I am hoping to control mine by watching my diet.
